Episode 17 of the KYP Podcast features UCI associate Head Coach Ryan Badrtalei. Coach Badrtalei has been coaching at UCI for over 10 years. During his time there, his teams and players have enjoyed immense success, He helped the Anteaters reach the postseason six times including two NCAA appearances (2015, 2019) and an NCAA first round win in 2019. Since being at Irvine, Ryan has helped develop over 40 All-Big West Conference performers including the Conference Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year (6 times), Best Sixth Man (2 times) and Freshman of the Year (2 times).
Coach Badrtalei also spent 5 years as Kobe Bryant’s off-season trainer on the court and in the weight room. During this time, Kobe went on to win 2 NBA championships, 2 Gold Medals with Team U.S.A. and the NBA MVP award. In this podcast, you will hear about Kobe Bryant like you have never heard before.
