On the Sheet: NHL Player Agent Ian Pulver

NHL agent Ian Pulver joins Jeff Marek to break down the new contract for his client Tristan Luneau and what went into getting the deal done with the Anaheim Ducks. Pulver discusses Luneau’s development and the type of player Anaheim believes he can become, why NHL teams are increasingly looking to lock up young talent early, and how the league’s evolving contract landscape is changing negotiations between players, agents and general managers. They also get into Anaheim’s unique offseason, including the impact of the Ducks’ offer-sheet situation and Pavel Mintyukov’s contract, before pulling back the curtain on the life of an NHL agent, the relationships behind negotiations and what it takes to represent players in today’s league.
