Sam Leavitt Blames Bad Luck for LSU Turnovers; QB Guru Pushes Back

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt leads the nation with eight interceptions and has committed nine total turnovers through six games. But is he really playing poorly, or has he simply been unlucky?

Leavitt believes bad luck has contributed to his turnover struggles, and the Pro Football Focus numbers support his argument. Despite nine turnovers, PFF has credited Leavitt with just three turnover-worthy plays. Matt Moscona examines those numbers, Leavitt's track record before arriving at LSU and whether the Tigers can expect improvement in the second half of the season.

Former NFL quarterback Sean Salisbury offers a different perspective, pushing back on Leavitt's explanation and explaining why protecting the football is ultimately the quarterback's responsibility.

Plus, Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's matchup in Tiger Stadium. What could his availability mean for LSU?
