HEADLINERS: Boston College Faces Cincinnati Preview – Kris Jones and Mason McKenzie Look For Big Win

Boston College kicks off the 2026 season facing a revamped Cincinnati squad, both teams loaded with new faces and untested talent. Can Bill O'Brien’s overhauled offense get Mason McKenzie comfortable against a Bearcats defense swapping to Nate Woody’s aggressive 3-4 scheme? AJ Black and Mitchell Wolfe break down critical matchups, spotlighting Cincinnati’s veteran offensive line and the need for BC’s front seven—especially Kris Jones and Onye Nwosisi—to disrupt JC French at quarterback.

Key analysis centers on explosive play-action, the importance of light vs. heavy defensive boxes, and playmakers like Jayden Skeet exploiting a rebuilt Cincinnati secondary. With both sides harboring big question marks, could turnovers and special teams (including kicker Luca Lombardo) tip the balance? Plus, early-season predictions, potential upsets, and a fiery look at the looming Rutgers showdown turn up the intensity.
