The Member First Approach to Club Management

Season 26, Episode 23 - Shaun Boyce, Bobby Schindler

Summary

David Pyrzenski, founder of CourtMatch.ai, joined the podcast to explain why he built the platform as a player first rather than as a coach or admin. He walks through the member first approach that puts community, matchmaking, and engagement at the center of club management, and shares how CourtMatch fits into the space between simple court reservation systems and full club automation suites.

Key Topics

* David's path from lifelong tennis player to software developer to founding CourtMatch.ai

* Why CourtMatch is built from the member perspective rather than the club admin perspective

* Where CourtMatch sits in the market: more than court reservation, less than full club automation

Sound Bites

"I love our direct competitors. I hope they keep raising the bar and keep pushing us and we keep pushing them, because it's only gonna benefit the clubs, the members, everybody's experience."

"It was just like a tool. It wasn't an extension of community, it was just a tool to use. That was what was all missing, that engaging other people and creating that community."

"The competitors out there will all start looking more like CourtMatch over time. All the stuff they're missing is where we're leaning in."
