(Ep 235) Amaia Latorre

In this latest episode, joining me was 1x LET Access Series title winner & current Ladies European Tour pro Amaia Latorre who took some time to chat from back home in Spain alongside former pod guest Ale Llaneza for emotional support. Amaia has had a positive season on LET which a couple of top 10 which sees her currently 70th on LET Order of Merit standings.

Amaia is from Vitoria Gasteiz in Basque Country region of Northern Spain but currently resides in Castellón de la Plana just outside of Valencia. Amaia would try out Golf at the age of 3 years old and growing up would mix her time playing Football & Golf playing as a Defensive Midfielder for years before making the full time switch to Golf.

Amaia would go to Deusto University in Bilbao and as an amateur would win 3 titles. In 2022 she would turn professional and would win 2022 Santander Golf Tour Player of the Year before winning the first 2 of her 4 pro titles on Santander Golf Tour in 2023 at Cadiz & La Coruña.

In 2025, Amaia would win her 3rd pro title at Santander Golf Tour in Valencia and on LETAS would win Ahlsell Trophy in Sweden defeating Isabell Ekström in a Playoff at -8 to become a LET Access Series title winner. This year on LET would see Amaia finish 10th at Czech Ladies Open, 6th at Swiss Ladies Open, 18th at Buccelatti Italian Open and would make her first ever Aramco Series event in South Korea!

Just want to thank Amaia for being brilliant and she done really well in a 2nd language, I hope this gives her confidence to express herself more in future English interviews! Gracias!
