BOLD: Atlanta Falcons LOCK IN Matthew Bergeron As Highest-Paid Guard | What About Bijan Robinson?

Atlanta Falcons shake up the NFL by making Matthew Bergeron the league’s highest-paid guard, sparking questions about team priorities and future upside. With a four-year, $96 million extension, Bergeron leapfrogs established stars like Chris Lindstrom, despite not cracking top-15 lists at his position. Are the Falcons banking on untapped potential—or overpaying for solidity?

Aaron Freeman breaks down the logic behind Atlanta’s aggressive moves, including major extensions for Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and possibly Bijan Robinson. The discussion examines Bergeron’s fit in Kevin Stefanski’s evolving offense, the shift away from wide zone schemes, and the critical need for a sturdy interior to protect pocket passers like Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix. Can Bill Callahan unlock Bergeron’s next level? If the Falcons’ spending spree doesn’t translate into playoff wins, will tough questions follow for Ian Cunningham?
