NOTES: Faizon Brandon, Defense TAKEAWAYS from Tennessee Football Scrimmage

Tennessee Volunteers’ quarterback battle heats up as Faizon Brandon separates himself from George MacIntyre following Scrimmage 2, putting fans on high alert for Josh Heupel’s pending QB1 decision. Sloppy offensive play, with pre-snap penalties and turnovers, gave Tennessee’s defense the upper hand, despite standout moments from Brandon’s running ability.

Eric Cain breaks down the Volunteers’ latest scrimmage, spotlighting key defensive performances by Xavier Gilliam, Tyree Weathersby, and interceptions from DeJuan Lane and TJ Metcalf. The right tackle position remains unsettled between Ory Williams and Jesse Perry, adding another layer of intrigue as fall camp closes. With the announcement of the starting quarterback looming, questions remain: Will Brandon’s mobility solidify his place atop the depth chart, or could MacIntyre surprise in the final moments?
