UConn and Syracuse meet for a preseason basketball showdown, and we’re breaking down the Orange with Mike Waters of Syracuse.com! The last time these two programs faced off, it was just the third game of the Dan Hurley era at UConn, with the Huskies struggling and Syracuse ranked No. 15. Since then, the two programs have taken very different paths.

Mike joins the Connecticut Scoreboard Podcast to discuss the current state of Syracuse basketball, how the Orange stack up in the ACC compared to the Big East, and what to expect from new head coach Gerry McNamara.

We also dive into the Orange roster, including Kiyan Anthony, Amarri Monroe and Gavin Doty, along with Mike’s biggest takeaways from preseason media days and what UConn fans should know ahead of the matchup.
