Inside Spot Sports
The product, and the decisions behind it. For the personal story, read One Spot.
We built Spot to do one thing the rest of the sports world hasn’t: put everything a fan needs in one place, built around your teams, with nothing in the way. Here’s what that actually looks like.
Your home screen knows your teams

Most sports apps open to their idea of the day — the marquee national game, the thing they want you to watch. Spot opens to yours. Follow your teams and leagues once, and your home screen becomes a briefing: who played, who’s up next, what you missed.
Scores that read like a briefing, not a spreadsheet

Scores are table stakes. The difference is what surrounds them. On Spot, a score connects straight to the clips, highlights, and conversation about that game — and tells you where it’s playing — so you go from what happened to show me without leaving the page.
Scroll the day in Clips. Go deep in Watch.

The Clips tab is a fast vertical feed — thumb through the moments everyone’s talking about. Watch is for the long form: full game highlights, breakdowns, the whole arc. And on any game’s page, a Clips module catches you up on that game in seconds.
Podcasts and shows, organized by who you follow

Nothing beats two smart people walking you through what happened. Spot organizes podcasts and episodes by team and league, so going from a game to the shows talking about it is one tap, not a search.
One clean feed. No betting, no casino floor.
Open most sports apps and the screen fills with odds, betting lines, and ads before you find the score. Spot has none of it. No betting lines. No odds. Just sports — because a sports app should be allowed to just be about the sport, and because some of us are raising kids we’d like to fall in love with the game before they ever hear the word “spread.”
Built to stay one thread

The thing tying all of this together: you never restart. Score to clip to show to team page — it’s one continuous thread, not four disconnected apps stitched together. We don’t have a newsroom to trap you in or broadcast rights to protect. Our only job is getting you to the good stuff, fast, then getting out of the way.
Spot Sports is live on iOS and the web.
Follow your teams, build your feed, and see what it feels like when the whole thing is finally in one place.
